Trenerry Single Vineyard Grenache
Wine
Aphelion Trenerry Single Vineyard Grenache is sourced from the Dam Block on the Trenerry family's vineyard. It is just four short rows of Grenache vines planted in 1970.
The site is located in the Onkaparinga Hills, on the other side of the Onkaparinga Gorge from the main McLaren Vale region. This results in a unique style of Grenache.
The fruit is handpicked prior to a slow, cool whole bunch ferment. The wine is then pressed to large format neutral French oak where it matures on full lees. It is racked only when being prepared for bottling.
Bright purple, Aphelion Trenerry Single Vineyard Grenache is fresh and aromatic with red fruit and briary flavours in a light tannin frame. Cellaring potential is seven years.
